from 42 reviewsan absolute must if you are towing regularly, on your 19-21 Tundra. I cannot understand why Toyota deleted the Trans oil-cooler for these years. Nothing mechanical changed and the result is much higher temps on a consistent basis. I tow 8400 lb. trailer 60% of the miles on my 2021. This system shaves 20 to 30 degrees off the fluid temp, compared to the stock configuration. This kit uses stock parts, from previous 18 and older Gen 2 Tundras. Very Quality System. Absolutely recommended.
Very satisfied with the cooler. Most components are OEM toyota and the parts that are aftermarket exceed my expectations. Overall a very good kit if you do not have the factory transmission cooler. Transmission temperatures very rarely go over 200 degrees and when they do, they come down rapidly after a heavy tow up a grade. Before cooler my fluid was reaching 250 plus.. That will break down the fluid and if not changed frequently and will shorten the life of the transmission.
Kit was complete and well packaged for shipment. Installed in about two hours, taking my time. I elected to install an inline magna fine filter, and pin my thermostat open. Works great, and keeps everything cool.
bought this product just over a year ago. Works as promised. Temps stays under 200 not over 200 before the kit. No issues. Had a transmission shop put it in. Only thing but doesn't affect the performance is that it doesn't sit straight up and down, it is on a slight angle. Apparently the place where you mount it doesn't line up. They spent at least 2 hours and it was either go with the slight angle or drill unnecessarily into the truck. The owner said it won't affect performance. So far no complications with that. So I wouldn't let this discourage anyone planning to buy. Its worth the investment. Even the mechanics said this was a good thing to invest in.
Just finished my first trip towing my travel trailer since installing the kit. Torque and pan temps
stayed within a few degrees of each other the entire trip. I am so glad I don’t have to worry about the trans temps anymore. Thanks for making this kit.
Works great and keeps the tranny temp down.
3 years ago I installed the kit. As with most the hardest part of the install is the hard lines that go along the engine. Patience is key. After that everything is a piece of cake for anyone with average mechanical skills. No leaks or any problems since the install. Temperature drops of 20-30 degrees are a result. I feel that even if you don’t tow, get the cooler.
Everything u need part wise is provided with the kit. An afternoon and a friend will get this installed. So if ur on the fence and do some towing get it for the piece of mind. I talked to my Toyota Service Manager and he told me “as long as the installed parts didn’t cause a problem, ie leaked and starved the tranny of fluid it won’t void my extended warranty.”
Very well thought out, designed and executed kit. Would highly recommend.
My 2020 Tundra Limitied with towing package came without a transmission cooler. Driving it around on flat land at 85 F outside temps while not towing transmission temps would get to 210 F. While towing a 2600 lb trailer at 65 MPH it would get to 225-235. I've had it 2 years, towed over 15 K miles all over Texas and the Rockies, at outside temps above 105 F and the transmission temp has never gone above 210 F. Installation was a snap. I just watched a couple of YouTubes and went at it. The hardest part was leveling the truck on my uneven driveway. Prior to buying the 2020 Tundra, I had a 2007 with the same engine, which came with a factory cooler. It was OK, but I would have to watch my speed, particularly on hills, to keep the transmission below 220. The Genuine cooler is way better.
Best upgrade for my 2019 toyota tundra 4x4 crewmax so far. Everything was OEM quality. Would definitely recommend this to anyone that has a 2018-2021 tundra that the factory no longer installed the transmission cooler.
Top of the line kit with everything needed for the install. Great addition to the Tundra for towing!
Quality parts that look great. Install was smooth but time consuming. Running about 40-50 degrees cooler. Great product.
Bought a 2021 Tundra that doesn't have transmission cooler. I do some towing so bought the Genuine Cooling Systems cooler. It came with everything you need including the fluid. I helped my mechanic install taking about 2 hours with no problems. I have a OBD reader and before install was running over 200 degrees without towing and now below 200 even when towing. Highly recommend this cooler.
Couldn’t be more satisfied with purchasing this kit.
Excellent components, design, installation instructions. 10/10 for me pulling my TT cross country!
