Super quality, installed great, and works absolutely perfect.
Temps are at 190°F in the pan and temp at torque converter hasn’t surpassed 230°F
Also, did a flush, pan filter change, and filled everything with AMSOIL signature series just to be safe.
I tow a 3500lbs. GVWR camper all over the mountains of Montana in a 2019 Tundra and I guarantee I would be breaking 240°F consistently if it were not for this upgrade. It’s wild to me that Toyota removed this from the 2019-2021’s.
Don’t even hesitate, it’s spendy but so so worth it!
It was a very complete kit as far as the hardware, clamps, bolts, etc. The hard lines mounting brackets didn’t line up… the rear side was about 3/4” beyond the bolt hole and that hard tubing does not compress easily.. Difficult to resolve but I did. I think the kit should come with in-depth written instructions. Yes I downloaded, but for the price this kit should have instructions along with written instructions for the ODBC scanner setup too. The YouTube video was pretty complete except the guy had the camera on his head and it didn’t pick up some of the detail that I think would have been helpful. It would have been a bit of a pain to track down all the parts/clamps/etc to purchase individually but even with that, I do think the price is 30% too high. That’s just my opinion. Beyond that, the kit is complete.
Note: My 2021 tundra transmission experienced a massive transmission failure at 34,000 miles (can you believe that! A Toyota truck transmission had to be totally replaced at 34k) and I don’t tow, am 65 yrs old and dont drive aggressive at all. I bought the kit because I intend to keep this truck and want to do all I can to support longevity.
The Genuine Cooling Systems transmission cooler was highly recommended by my transmission shop. I've been very happy with the results. I tow a 6,000 lb trailer and with this unit installed, I rarely see pan temps higher than 185 degrees, whether towing or not. I have not yet towed in the mountains, but I am confident that I won't run into any trans overheating issues.
Also, it was very thoughtful that the manufacturer included (at no additional charge) and ODB-II scan tool so I can easily monitor the trans fluid temps.
Install was fairly easy. Dropped my pan temps a good 20 tp 25* pulling my bass boat. Highly recommend this add on
I don’t know what the temperature it was prior to installing it, but for what I seen I can get in the 245 ish just driving with no towing. After I added it I can see mine in the 190s and 215 the highest while towing. A must in my opinion.
